Unfortunately, there was a family emergency during that time. Your kits are now at the Shoppe and can be picked up starting tomorrow (Saturday, Sept. 4th). I believe there is one extra...first come, first serve! (You might want to call Cheryl just to be sure it's still available 706-321-0202).</div><div> </div><div></div><div>There are a couple of things I wanted to mention as well as provide some pictures for you all to go by.<br /></div><div>1) The dimensions for cutting both the striped and dot paper are on the back of each sheet.<br /></div><div></div><div>2) For the butterfly:</div><div></div><br /><div>In your kit, you will find two green butterfly shapes as well as two orange wings. Adhere the orange wings to one of the green butterflies. Next, adhere (only the bodies) of the two green butterflies together. Then, bend the wings so you will have a fold on each side of it's body. The pop dots will go under each wing. And here is a bit of a visual for you...notice the fold lines on each side of the butterfly's body:</div><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5512752663250143234" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6cbBIOERplOlqu_5H1uNAuT9G0gGCpCThtdNlQkPluBPaHym8pC5aMA8hzRyHH0EkApjrmMHx-ChS-cAMt41kJ2GSTmyLg2955Ta3Ksm7u85NEYtW2UD7sfJp7gha1psQtaL0jKZjP8Y/s400/butterflycloseup.jpg" border="0" /><br /><br /><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5512745621959822242" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRah7Q5n0bn-KcKKZxie2nybg7mLSZHTTE1tQrWuwEohF5nyoauh348JQKaF-y0Sr5hKfSoEQ5w8a7MnZpjUMIt2_GYu07GDTDR8dncibUk0Gsb_tODn6o73NCGiEj0PJMnbpxeCoDJUs/s400/butterfly.jpg" border="0" /></div><br /><p>It was difficult to get a good picture from this angle, but hopefully you get the idea. Once you have your butterfly assembled, adhere it to your page...then add the rhinestones and eyes. I believe Cheryl has this in stock at the Shoppe. Our local scrapbook store "The Scrapbook Shoppe" held a class taught by none other than the very talented <strong>Stephanie Howell</strong>!<br /><br />There were many thoughts that immediately came to mind within the first few minutes of meeting her. First, what a warm, sweet person! Her friendly personality immediately made you feel at ease and the overall atmosphere to the class itself was so laid back. It felt like you were scrapbooking with a bunch of friends.<br /><br />I was amazed at how perfectly our class kits were presented!! There were even very detailed directions to each project (along with pictures!). The enormous amount of work she put into this was very obvious. And the giveaways (along with the variety of product in our class kits) were <strong>awesome</strong>!! Each kit featured lots of goodies from wonderful companies such as Lily Bee, Jenni Bowlin, and Studio Calico.<br /><br />So, today, I want to thank Stephanie, the Scrapbook Shoppe, and the generous companies who sponsored this fun class! Stephanie, I hope you felt welcome (because you very much were!) and I hope you'll come back again real soon!<br /><br />If you'd like to check out Stephanie's blog for lots of wonderful inspiration (and awesome giveaways!), here is her link:<br /><br /><a href="http://www.stephaniehowell.typepad.com/">http://www.stephaniehowell.typepad.com/</a>Shelleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11830675427837666344noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3486559177766811080.post-78333528527483549632010-04-19T15:33:00.000-04:002010-04-19T20:28:17.684-04:00A quick tip!How about a little helpful tip for today? I thought I'd share what kinds of inks I like to use in my scrapbooking and cardmaking.<br /><br />For inking to add dimension to my layout, I prefer the Tim Holtz Distress Inks. But when it comes to stamping, I use something entirely different.<br /><br />For a long time, stamping sentiments on cards or layouts was a problem for me. After trying many different ink pads, I became frustrated in that I could never get a clean, crisp image. Then, someone suggested I try the Versafine ink pad by Tsukinkeo...and I'm so glad I did!! It is amazing!!! Although it comes in a variety of colors, I chose the Onyx Black, because it's so versatile. I highly recommend this for your stamping needs!<br /><br />Have a great day everybody!Shelleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11830675427837666344noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3486559177766811080.post-5518943322534437752010-04-15T13:12:00.000-04:002010-04-15T13:15:50.464-04:00Hello? Is anyone out there?I'm trying to determine if it's worth the time and effort in maintaining this blog anymore. So, if you're still reading, please post a comment. That way I'll know for sure one way or the other. Thanks everyone! :-)Shelleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11830675427837666344noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3486559177766811080.post-43081076046840655092010-04-09T13:59:00.001-04:002010-04-09T14:27:27.267-04:00Now at the Shoppe!Awhile back, I posted about a great idea I found in my online travels, on how to fix your mats that had lost their stickiness. If you missed that post, here again, is the link to my previous entry. (Scroll down until you find the August 4, 2009 post)<br /><div></div><br /><div></div><div><a href="http://sweetfancyscrapbooking.blogspot.com/search/label/Money%20saving%20tips">http://sweetfancyscrapbooking.blogspot.com/search/label/Money%20saving%20tips</a></div><div> </div><div></div><div>The Shoppe now has these great 2 way glue pens in stock! However, unlike the one pictured in my older post, these come with a wider tip...which will be even more perfect in covering a large area (like your mats). Here is a picture of the new, improved version.</div><br /><div><br /></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5458200950019910258" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlIeSzrJIeyZKDyBoAjougOvocDtpJmbFdT7Gensp11FYpvj9c3wjVj37XJ9FrGdVTUhCYP98MCm4dVKKF6MKB6o0l92GHTiA-uVrNz1ubHwwk3dALREsqjMLYnazrCCAt1h_AmXjvtq0/s400/zigpen.jpg" border="0" /> I believe she only has 5 in stock right now. So, if you want one, be sure to stop by before they're gone!<br /><p>There is still space available for our Easter class on April 24th from 1-3 p.m. If you would like to sign up, please call or stop by the Shoppe to reserve your spot. (706-321-0202). If you are not able to make it that day, kits are available! (and I believe Cheryl will ship if you do not live locally).</p><p>Here, once again, is a picture of the class project:</p><br /><p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5458202472313585874" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqgnJ_g4eRVdYpSFynNQHrEfZWGGTmLAmJ7z6mYz2Eazpokh9CDs8CiEPauWi_HHw_ncZL_g_CFu7oH6-lQAyHFfsdz4hNEq7RXN6iIQuCPYtjuVHo0nz0lZOCddmerAg-WqF6vTtTPD8/s400/happyeaster.jpg" border="0" /><br /></p><div></div><p>Also, if you happen to go by the Shoppe, be sure to ask about our <strong>Deluxe Card Toppers</strong> that are now for sale. These cuties would not only be great as card toppers, but also as embellishments for your scrapbook pages. Use them as a tag or perhaps an adorable journaling box for that special layout you've been working on. Stop by soon for the best selection! The last time we offered these, they flew out the door! I'll give you a sneak peek of just one of the many designs we offer:</p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5458205105861334530" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 400px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiATbHmH-yzHyIyQKrybx956XVpUMe0hHDoN74bk74mZYri9_2sx3ynuzcJzuHfHqYn2vbzm7iCKPlwHfPCTdbQG1T2I_3rh2-7BSRRmyliiUizb5pcXdGvNjJ4-x0I0pKlI-LXqXeVUo8/s400/dog.jpg" border="0" /><br /><div></div><br />Have a great day!<br /><br /><div></div>Shelleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11830675427837666344noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3486559177766811080.post-65122699215448367472010-04-06T22:43:00.001-04:002010-04-07T13:54:06.433-04:00A great new product coming to the Shoppe!!I have always loved inking and chalking my diecuts. In fact, I even love inking the edges of my photo mats. I find this gives such a nice dimension to my pages, cards, and diecuts.<br /><div></div><br /><div>Awhile back, I came across this wonderful tool. Perhaps you've even heard me mention it. But in case not, let me tell you a little about it, and why I love it so much. It's called the Inkssentials Ink Blending Tool, and it looks like this:</div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5457445057181468962" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-iNJBtEXTcWKpZsxszZ5vKfeFPDFOdQJB2ihG9K3_Kh1g5QIB_vRPsCW9xDOBAs5pqwYEkDfCDQ7bnU4qbi4FQ_yTt8aaBkBPYsdD1KCV2DC51kRwmSvOEvIIRHNHwJNDrLCkfdOPa0g/s400/inkssentialstool.jpg" border="0" /> Why do I love it so much? Well, the first reason is the handle. Finally, I can ink my projects without worrying about getting my hands covered!! The tool comes with two foam pads (the foam is attached to the tool with velcro). So, if you want to change the ink colors you are using when working on a project, just peel off one foam pad and add a new one!<br /><br /><div></div><div>Also, unlike some ink pads that seem to quickly fall apart, these foam pads hold up very well!</div><br /><div></div><div>The only problem I have found is in trying to find the replacement foam pads. I have looked all over town and they are nowhere to be found. That is when I contacted Cheryl. (Isn't it great to have a local scrapbook store?!)</div><br /><div></div><div>I told her about this amazing product and how I knew alot of you would probably love it. And I asked about the possiblity of ordering some for the store. Of course, Cheryl said yes!! YAY!!!! So, they're on their way and will hopefully be in on Monday (but feel free to call the Shoppe first, just to make sure they arrived). </div><div></div><br /><div>As you know, I would never recommend a product to anyone that I did not use and love myself. I really think this is an item you all will fall in love with once you try it out. And from what I recall, the cost is very reasonable (I want to say about $5 for the tool. The refill pads are also (I believe) about $5 and have ten in each package).<br /></div><div>Oh, one more thing! If you don't like the idea of having to change out your foam pads each time, there is a nifty spinner that will hold several tools at once. This is so cute and will keep everything right at your finger tips! (not to mention look adorable on your desk). Here is a picture:</div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5457449031444016514" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 268px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 304px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgniZIECM0WQC3wmDqSWgQQQsSVXOtcxTpkqSOdI74CLknqxh1d-3ZpA3U69azWJ7GcUEc-3AyhHA0DVrfS2Nnx766TID3ipcX0JEnjjVIIuMWtUUHJTSfZBLqtYbQ6wfCTOSGLg2Uzv2A/s400/spinner.jpg" border="0" />Want to hear the best part? The spinner is only about $20!! (tools are extra. So, be sure if you decide to order the spinner to also order any additional tools you may be needing). Cheryl has told me that she will be taking pre-orders for this. So, if it's something you think you may like, give the Shoppe a call today! You may remember last year I taught a class called "Toad-ally Loveable". Well, the response to it was so good that I decided to do a second version: "My Heart Leaps 4 U". If you liked the first, you will probably love this one as well. And if you missed out last time, now's your chance!<br /><br />Kits will be available for pick up on Feb. 13th. For those not familiar with our online classes, in each kit you will receive the website address as well as a password to that particular class. There you will find pictures and directions to make this fun two page layout. Here is a picture of what the class project will be:<br /><br /><p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5428961366682545186" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 268px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9atcn6kDZGlM3TbkxQsJ_lcuLsw3SUvmDsoXpttX2EKanwZIiLzae0u79luP2PcZ7tOGBp50FbwVwzYWHiefM24ygzvpvheNsqyVL1vBwrPhNWsigLOlw_BtndBdBqNYIpMBaQ4Dtsdk/s400/c+069.jpg" border="0" /></p><p>If you're interested, please don't wait to sign up. Seats are going very quickly for this one!</p><p>Hope you enjoy it! :o)<br /></p>Shelleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11830675427837666344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3486559177766811080.post-80708281960959979172010-01-13T20:26:00.000-05:002010-01-13T20:39:51.079-05:00For all you Cricuteers out there...I have some exciting news to share! I have decided to start a blog specifically for my Cricut creations. Most of these projects will be layouts, with a few exceptions. The directions will be there for you as well...all free of charge! The only thing I ask is the same I require for this blog: Any of my work found here or at "Cricut Cuteness" should <strong>only</strong> be used in your <strong>personal albums.</strong><br /><br />Once I learn the ins and outs of my video camera, I hope to put some video tutorials there as well. I plan to put a new project up fairly regularly, so if you'd like to follow, here is the link:<br /><br /><a href="http://cricutcuteness.blogspot.com/">http://cricutcuteness.blogspot.com</a><br /><br />I should also mention that this blog will remain active as well. Whenever you're looking for any information on my classes, etc., you will only find it here. "Cricut Cuteness" is just something extra I've decided to do...to hopefully provide some inspiration as well as keep me motivated in my own personal scrapbooking.<br /><br />Have a great evening and hope to see you at my new spot! :o)Shelleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11830675427837666344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3486559177766811080.post-24445940599812107022010-01-05T14:26:00.000-05:002010-01-05T15:00:20.492-05:00Over at Pooh Corner...<div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3Sp9xfKW9RijOQX_Fx_Ll5dbEaT-IzxoPa3GD5NLqCwWP2MC1GAAoVveI1N5uv0K7NGGdctavbxJjIrQ5FaXSSQBmg2CJXZmftTceQJROitnH46SW4hfp-BXct1vJUA03u1nXBZStN5Y/s1600-h/winniethepooh.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5423340541438740770" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 268px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3Sp9xfKW9RijOQX_Fx_Ll5dbEaT-IzxoPa3GD5NLqCwWP2MC1GAAoVveI1N5uv0K7NGGdctavbxJjIrQ5FaXSSQBmg2CJXZmftTceQJROitnH46SW4hfp-BXct1vJUA03u1nXBZStN5Y/s400/winniethepooh.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div>...you will find this cute new layout! It's our class scheduled for the afternoon of Feb. 20th. It's hard to see from the picture but it includes a very touching quote:</div><div> </div><div>"If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so that I never have to live without you." ~ Winnie the Pooh</div><div></div><br /><div>A <strong>couple of things to note:</strong> </div><div></div><br /><div>First, the stickles that I used for the dripping honey will <strong>not</strong> be included with the class supplies. So, if you would like to do this, please either bring yours to class, or let Cheryl know you would like to order some. The color I used was "Crystal". Because this is a clear glitter glue, it is versatile enough to work with any colored cardstock. So, in addition to this class project, you're sure to get lots of other uses out of it.</div><div></div><br /><div>Second, please bring your inks and/or chalks with you to class. The other tool I used and would like to recommend is this:<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5423342585298451026" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 280px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 280px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNSbNnpOq22L8V5RnBfpn87uJva6rmnPIcSrryNrZwG0jxoX8oxgKOrtY5o6xubjiTzMXZilYTWLpzIq9lw3gkXD0DP9Ai7RgqC0AC66eBKVH9QerrR5HlUSkPm8E-UBML-rGVTL81LwY/s400/inkssentials+blending+tool.jpg" border="0" />I have found this tool to be worth it's weight in gold when it comes to inking! Because it has a handle, no more getting your hands covered with ink. And as much as I love the cat's eye ink pads, I find they can come apart in pieces when trying to apply ink to my page. These foam pads hold up remarkably well. When you're done, simply peel the foam pad from base (it's attached with velcro). Add another foam pad and you're ready for your next project! Super simple!! I absolutely love mine and highly recommend it.</div><div> </div><div>The applicator itself retails for $4.99. And I believe it comes with two foam pads. Refill foam pads come 10 to a pack for $4.99. If you think you'd like to order one for yourself, call the Shoppe to order one today! (706) 321-0202.<br /></div><div>And also, just a quick reminder of our round-about class on January 16th. The class fee is $45 for <strong>four </strong>two page layouts! The "You Melt My Heart" pages featured below is what you will be making at my booth. Hope to see you there!</div><div> </div><div>Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas...and that your New Year is a very blessed one!</div><div></div><div> </div></div>Shelleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11830675427837666344noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3486559177766811080.post-34931647226863464072009-12-17T12:37:00.001-05:002009-12-17T12:50:42.765-05:00Coming in January...<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_v-lgsdmNZbK6zM5dh_lHOWAT3CiUhWS98hLwR2qIsxtfJdUPQLgXls89ZhfJLT9lzCcjDV9cboJTxFu43wGwux9kokFvWWXGF_vESX0N7MjgIVxasI-ZjVog5bbdpN2FGCe89GkuX6k/s1600-h/IMG_0880.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5416261189499932482" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_v-lgsdmNZbK6zM5dh_lHOWAT3CiUhWS98hLwR2qIsxtfJdUPQLgXls89ZhfJLT9lzCcjDV9cboJTxFu43wGwux9kokFvWWXGF_vESX0N7MjgIVxasI-ZjVog5bbdpN2FGCe89GkuX6k/s400/IMG_0880.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>"You Melt My Heart"...</div><br /><div></div>Shelleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11830675427837666344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3486559177766811080.post-65841612665156855432009-12-15T12:34:00.000-05:002009-12-15T13:30:40.992-05:00Great finds of '09!Last year I made the decision to start a "My Favorite Things" list...just in time for Christmas. This year I've found a couple of more things to add to my list. I'm calling it "Great Finds of '09"! :o)<br /><br />First, Martha Stewart's paper trimmer. Cuts like butter! And the best part? It cuts STRAIGHT!! I should probably state that I have tried <span style="font-size:130%;"><strong><em>many</em></strong> </span>paper trimmers over the years, but this one is by far, the best that I have found! Another feature I love is that it has an arm that you can "set. Here is a great video demonstrating that feature.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kC54B5a6bIs">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kC54B5a6bIs</a><br /><br />The only con of this trimmer is that it only goes up to 10 1/2 inches. Not a huge issue in my opinion because most times you're cutting down a 12x12 page anyway.<br /><br />Another great find is the Martha Stewart border puches. There are two that I absolutely fell in love with. One is the<strong><em> "Punch around the Page" loop border/corner set</em></strong>. There are many other designs that are available all the way from whimsical to the most elegant designs.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7p1p5yV2NpI">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7p1p5yV2NpI</a><br /><br />If you haven't heard of the <strong><em>Drippy Goo punch</em></strong>, be sure to check that one out too. It's been on the market for awhile. It was a "must have" item last year but this year, you can probably find one at your local Walmart. You can use this punch in sooo many different ways on cards or layouts: icing for cake; drippings from an ice cream; icicles. Lots of fun ideas! If you look at my calendar pages below, for the June page, I used this punch on the photo mat. Isn't it cute?<br /><br /><strong><em>Aleene's Tacky Glue Pen</em></strong> is another wonderful product. What makes this glue pen different than others, you may be asking? It's refillable!! Last night I spent less than $3 for a huge 16 FL. OZ bottle of Tacky Glue at Walmart...which will last me a looong time! I also love that this glue pen has a fine tip which allows much more control with tiny embellishments. <br /><br /><strong><em>**If you haven't already, check out my archived Money Saving Tip on how to make your own glue dots using Aleene's Tack It Over and Over. It's another great product that will save you some money.**</em></strong><br /><strong><em></em></strong><br />And one more thing: Whether you're a card maker or an avid scrapbooker, my best find so far has been the <strong><em>Cricut machine</em></strong>. No words can express how much I love my machine or how much use out of it I've gotten. It was well worth the investment and I highly recommend it. It will help you make beautiful pages in a fraction of the time...and it's incredibly user friendly!!<br /><br />Hope these suggestions help with your Christmas shopping!Shelleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11830675427837666344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3486559177766811080.post-67809879463507611412009-12-13T19:19:00.000-05:002009-12-13T20:19:41.781-05:00It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...I love Christmas. My favorite time of the year!! There is something so wonderfully magical about seeing all the beautiful lights and most of all, knowing the true meaning of the season. <div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div></div><br /><div>Christmas was always a huge deal at our house. My parents always had such a way of making us feel special. Mom & Dad's gifts to us were wrapped under our tree. But Santa left everything displayed around our fireplace. I still remember the excitement I felt when Mom & Dad would announce that my brother, sister and I could come out to the living room and see what Santa brought. It was good being a kid! And it's even better being able to look back on fun childhood memories such as this and knowing we were so loved.<br /></div><div>Probably one of the best gifts my parents gave us though was taking us to church each Sunday so that we could hear about Jesus. That was the most important gift of all. And it's the one I'm most appreciative of.</div><div> </div><div>Anyway, so on with the excitement of this past week:<br /></div><div>Monday night I had a fantastic time with the ladies from our church. We had a special evening of fellowship, food, singing Christmas carols... and the revealing of who our Secret Sister has been. It was so much fun!! As it turns out, the person I was giving to was the same person who was giving to me! And she is one of the sweetest ladies you would ever meet! I hope to get to know her better in the months to come. She has blessed me so much with her thoughtfulness.<br /></div><div>On Saturday, Cheryl threw a Christmas party at the Shoppe for all of us who participated in Secret Sister there as well! Again, a great time! Of course there was eating....and these ladies sure can cook!! And we exchanged gifts with our Secret Sisters for the last time. Again, I had a sweet Secret Sister.<br /></div><div>I thought I'd share what I made for my Secret Sister. Last year, Cheryl taught a calendar class which was wonderful. It's a calendar that hangs from a banana tree...what a fun idea!! I never got around to finishing mine back then, but decided to give it another whirl, in hopes of giving my Secret Sister something handmade. If you want to check out the class project, here is the link: <a href="http://scrapbookshoppe.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2009-02-05T15%3A03%3A00-05%3A00&max-results=20">http://scrapbookshoppe.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2009-02-05T15%3A03%3A00-05%3A00&max-results=20</a> (scroll down to the Nov. 10/08 post). </div><br /><div></div><div>Here is the one I made:</div><div> </div><div></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5414884645157759218" style="DISPLAY: block; I just love all the bright colors and the cute umbrella! And lots of bling throughout which is incredibly Shelley-like! LOL If any of you are wondering, most of the embellishments I used for these pages were made with the Cricut (using many different cartridges). </p><p>Thanks for looking! Wishing all of you a fantastic week!!</p>Shelleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11830675427837666344noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3486559177766811080.post-38902479202800268222009-12-03T21:48:00.000-05:002009-12-03T22:05:40.653-05:00My latest creation!Thought I'd share a picture of what I created tonight. I'm sure most of you by now have seen the huge fun diecuts at the Shoppe. Well, I bought three of them. One for a layout of Bailey (our Westie). The other two I intended to layer to make a layout of Muffin. <div><div></div><br /><div>Here is what I came up with after playing around for a bit. I'm planning on sharing the whole layout once it is done, but for now, you get a sneak peek at my Muffin diecut. </div><div></div><br /><div>I forgot to take a picture of the Muffin pieces before I worked with them so I'll show you a picture of what the white version of the same diecut looks like.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5411209196746244818" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglzLli-CG8Th0WoZDfM173CROnvo6_cn34VFV_Y7UKrBlfu_SHHCIoMlCVabjSFVn5GgmmtI_jGMJAFJTS0iAKijgN5D6rSow64HClbIIUrOIMfMT9KYGShpVVj4ePM-Ai9N_1IRVHwuU/s400/IMG_0883.JPG" border="0" /></div></div><br /><p>Very cute, but a little plain. Now, let's see what a little ink, chalk and some bling can do:</p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5411210382524707794" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9sOb_zSJAmRFHaJQtKGLsjEEf2DzQnZ9EhMF_hkXeTiLUdeSng__AN4fIA6-tsz_XZ6vOmBmoHJ-z4n8FEpfqVPuLljh9c52oBYWuAVTVQfDzbIkjwfb2XdRFoSa1-oKSMgal36V3F_s/s400/IMG_0882.JPG" border="0" /><br /><p>Okay, so I see now that the dog is turned the wrong way in the first picture. Oh well. You get the idea. LOL</p><p>All I did was simply buy two diecuts...one in light brown and one in dark. I cut pieces out of the darker diecut and glued them on top of the lighter brown dog. Very, very easy. In fact, the diecuts have little detailing/slits all over it, which can serve as a guide on where to cut. </p><p>Hope this inspires you to create something fun of your own!! </p><p>Have a nice weekend everyone!</p>Shelleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11830675427837666344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3486559177766811080.post-4092248943333496392009-12-03T13:49:00.000-05:002009-12-03T13:57:57.746-05:00Another new class!<div>In case some of you have not seen this yet, I wanted to post about another great class that is going on this Saturday at the Shoppe. And this weekend while at Petsmart having Bailey and Muffin groomed, I discovered the sweetest furbaby there in a cage. Her face absolutely melted my heart.<br /><br />Her name is Lola and she is a Lhaso Apso. She is beautiful beyond words. I would have adopted her in a second, except she suffers from seizures, and being in a wheelchair, I don't think I can give her the care she would deserve. But I can tell you about her in hopes that someone here can be that loving home for her. The people at Safe Haven animal shelter have told me the medication she needs is cheap...about $10/month. (I believe it was Safe Haven. If not, you can ask the people at Petsmart...the workers wore dark green shirts and were located near the fish dept.) The number for Safe Haven is (706) 582-3629. The number for our local Petsmart is 76-323-6788.<br /><br />Please, if anyone reading this is looking for a pet, I hope you'll consider adopting her. And if you do, I would love it if you left me a note. Knowing this precious doggie got her forever home would absolutely make my Christmas!!Shelleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11830675427837666344noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3486559177766811080.post-58433677821463354252009-11-13T14:54:00.000-05:002009-11-13T15:34:38.451-05:00ReminderIn case some of you reading do not receive the Shoppe's newsletter...or even if you do, I thought I'd put a little reminder on my blog about the great deal Cheryl is offering for Black Friday.<br /><br />Every gift certificate purchased on Friday, November 27th (from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. only!) will receive an extra 10% upgrade! So for example, if you purchase a $25 gift certifcate, you will get $27.50 instead. How great is THAT???<br /><br />If any of you are participating in the Secret Sister swap at the Shoppe, what a fantastic idea for an end of the year gift! Or, perhaps you have a friend who likes to scrapbook. Heck, considering the upgrade, it might be worth it to even purchase one for yourself! Who doesn't love a little extra spending money...to you, from you! :o)<br /><br />And ahem...now that I've done my own personal shopping...lol<br /><br />If you haven't had a chance to drop in lately, Cheryl has some gorgeous new Christmas papers and embellishments in stock. Some have an elegant, vintage touch...and others are just as cute as can be! Just go to the back of the store in the holiday section to check out all the pretties for yourself. I can guarantee you, you're not going to want to miss out on any of it! And if you're working on layouts after a fun-filled Halloween, there is still a great selection of adorable papers for that as well!<br /><br />Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend!Shelleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11830675427837666344noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3486559177766811080.post-23485600421652117552009-11-13T13:02:00.000-05:002009-11-13T15:20:55.980-05:00Facebook fans or fellow bloggers...check this out!Found this in my online travels and thought some of you might like to try it. There is this wonderful website called Scrappin Blogs that has all kinds of beautiful templates either for your blog or...your FACEBOOK page!! Yes folks, you can now customize your Facebook profile however you would like it. There are all kinds of themes from military, holidays, babies, adoption, animals, flowers...you name it and I'm sure you'll find it there!<br /><br /><a href="http://www.scrappinblogs.blogspot.com/">http://www.scrappinblogs.blogspot.com/</a><br /><br />It's very easy. For your blog, they give you codes for you to add as a html code (under "gadgets").<br /><br />To use on Facebook, on the right hand side of the home page, you will find "How to use our layouts on Facebook". Click on that. On the next page that comes up, there will be tons of backgrounds for you to choose from. They are on the left hand side of the page, categorized according to theme. Now there is one catch. You will have to download the application to be able to use this. Have no fear though...it's free and they walk you through each step from start to finish.<br /><br />If you do not see anything you like on these pages, you also have the option of choosing a layout on the main portion of the blog. To do this, you will have to copy and paste the link code they give you there. For each layout there is a designated Facebook code (it's under the picture of each layout). Highlight the FB code of the one you like, hold down your Control button and push c (for copy). Then click on the "How to use our layouts on Facebook". On the next screen, you will see a big green button that says "Create Your Own Background". Click that. You want your background color to be white, so choose that. The next screen will be where you put in your link. Click on the empty box. Hold down the Control button again and push v (paste). Once your link code is written in that box, hit the "load button". Then, next step. Choose the color for the font you would like. (I usually just choose black as I find it to be the most versatile). Next step again. Add a layout name if you want...I never do. Then, hit the save and publish button.<br /><br />When you go to your FB page, you may have to reload it to see your updated background. Now not only will you have a gorgeous background, but you can also see the ones your friends may have!!<br /><br />Enjoy!Shelleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11830675427837666344noreply@blogger.com0
